Reading the Interface

A guided tour of everything on screen — the minimap, your sidebar, the chat window, right-click menus, and the combat HUD — so nothing catches you by surprise.

The Screen at a Glance

Everworld's interface is deliberately light — most of the screen is just the world itself. A handful of fixed elements sit around the edges to keep you informed without getting in the way: the minimap and your gold in the top right, your sidebar down the right edge, and chat in the bottom left.

The Minimap

The circular map in the top-right corner shows the terrain around you — land, water, and points of interest — with your character always centred and facing north-up. It's a quick way to spot nearby resources, other players, and landmarks without having to scroll the camera around.

Your current gold total sits just to the left of the minimap, and the gear icon in the top-right corner opens Settings.

Your Sidebar

The sidebar on the right edge holds three tabs:

  • Inventory — your carried items, up to 28 stacks
  • Equipment — whatever you currently have equipped (weapon, armour, ammo)
  • Skills — your levels and XP progress across all nine skills

💡

Tip: Click the small arrow tab on the sidebar's edge to collapse it entirely. This gives you a full, unobstructed view of the world — handy when you're navigating a crowded area, and necessary before you can click on anything hidden behind it.

The Chat Window

Chat lives in the bottom-left corner and shows a mix of system messages, errors (shown in red, like "You need an axe equipped to chop this"), and messages from other players. Press Enter to start typing, and use the All / Chat / Sys tabs on the left to filter what you see.

Right-Click Menus

Left-clicking a tree, rock, or NPC interacts with it immediately. Right-clicking an object instead opens a small menu with its primary action plus an Examine option, useful when you just want to know what something is before committing to it.

Right-clicking an object opens a menu with its action plus Examine.

Monsters work a little differently — left-clicking one attacks it directly (or walks you into range first if you're too far away). There's no right-click menu for monsters, since Attack is the only thing you'd do with one.

Fighting Monsters: The Combat HUD

The moment you engage a monster, a combat HUD appears showing its name and a depleting HP bar, so you can track the fight without losing sight of the action behind it.

The combat HUD appears the moment you engage a monster, tracking its HP as you fight.

Every monster has a combat level, and you'll need a matching combat level of your own before you're allowed to engage — the game will tell you in chat if a monster is currently out of your league.

Buffs

Certain items and effects grant temporary buffs — extra yield, bonus XP, faster actions, and so on. Active buffs appear in a small bar just above your sidebar, each with an icon and a countdown until it expires.

Where to Go Next

Now that you know your way around the screen, the next guides will walk through each part in depth — starting with your first fight and the gear that makes it easier.
