Cooking Basics
Cooking turns raw fish and other ingredients into food that heals you — the fish you've been hauling in with Fishing are all raw until you cook them. Interact with a cooking station and choose what to prepare.

Burning: Level Matters
Every cookable item has a chance to burn, wasting the ingredient for half XP and no food. Your burn chance drops as your Cooking level climbs above the item's requirement, reaching 0% at that item's "no-burn" level — shrimp become unburnable fairly early, while something like manta ray stays risky almost to level 99.

Every recipe shows your current burn chance before you commit an ingredient to the fire.
The station you cook at matters too — each has its own burn multiplier:
| Station | Burn Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Campfire | ×1.0 (baseline) |
| Range / Stove | ×0.9 |
| Stone Oven | ×0.75 |
| Cauldron | No burning at all |
Tip: If you're grinding a fish that's still burning a lot for you, cooking it at a stone oven or in a cauldron instead of a campfire meaningfully cuts your losses.
Beyond Basic Fish
Cooking goes further than raw fish over a fire:
- ◆Bread (Lv. 18) bakes at a stone oven.
- ◆Pies — fish pie (Lv. 47) and admiral's pie (Lv. 70) — also require a stone oven.
- ◆Simmered meals — stew, fish chowder, and curry — are made in a cauldron over several ticks, consuming their ingredients upfront and paying out only when the dish finishes. These need a ladle equipped, and better ladles (iron, then gold) cook faster.

These simmered and baked meals aren't just bigger heals — several of them also grant a temporary buff on top of restoring HP. See Buffs & Consumables for what each one does.
